The ancient roman cistern is located in at the western end of the Gulf of Naples in southern Italy. The 15m high hall was to be converted into a gallery. Two volumes were proposed at the end of the structure. The head building houses the shop, offices and ticket desk. The design is organised as a loop. Visitors are guided through the hall, which is made usable by a simple grid. Cables and supplies for the sculptures can run underneath. At the other end of the hall rises a tower that serves as access for visitors and as a lift for artworks. At the top, a monumental disc rises up in front of you, serving as a projection screen for evening events and reinforcing the museum's external image.
